Translating to "Patient Heart" in Surinamese, we are a dedicated non-profit driven by a singular goal: elevating healthcare standards for the people of Suriname.

Based in Paramaribo, we act as the vital bridge between global medical resources and the local hospitals and clinics that need them most. We believe that quality healthcare shouldn't be a luxury—it should be a guarantee.

How We Make a Difference

We don’t just donate; we build sustainable systems of support. Our strategy is built on three core pillars:

  • Identifying the Need: We partner directly with local hospitals and clinics to understand their specific, day-to-day medical product requirements.

  • Building Global Alliances: We forge strong sponsorships and partnerships with medical companies to secure high-quality, essential supplies.

  • Closing the Gap: We manage the logistics of supplying these products to ensure they reach the front lines of patient care without delay.

Dr. Amancia Alendy

Dr. Amancia Alendy is driven by a deep commitment to compassion and equity in healthcare. With the belief that everyone deserves access to quality care, Dr. Alendy is dedicated to ensuring that the people of Suriname receive the support and medical resources they need.
A Medical graduate, professor, fiber artist, and poet, Dr. Alendy brings a unique blend of scientific expertise, creativity, and heart to Patient Heart.

Dr. Varousca Amautan

Dr. Varousca Amautan is a recent medical graduate, a political activist, and a passionate advocate for empowering the Surinamese diaspora. Her vision centers on building long-term, sustainable growth for Suriname through active involvement from her generation. With her energy, clarity, and forward-thinking mindset, she plays a vital role in helping Patient Heart grow and thrive.

Herman Alendy

Herman Alendy is an experienced manager, formerly Mining Manager at Suralco, Director at Grassalco, briefly President Commissioner at Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname and Consultant. His leadership supports Patient Heart’s financial planning and strategy for Suriname’s development.

Maikel and Amanda Right

Amanda and Maikel serve as trusted technical advisors, offering essential support as Patient Heart continues to expand and strengthen its operations. Amanda and Maikel are Small Business Owners, Educators, and Suriname American Partners.

Nelleke Rensch-Soudain

Nelleke Rensch Soudain has over 35 years of bookkeeping experience. A seasoned educator in bookkeeping, she combines technical skill with empathy and a strong desire to contribute to the wellbeing of her country.

Dr. Cynthia Alendy-Leune

Cynthia Alendy is a respected general physician and the owner of GAADU, which stands for Gezondheidscentrum Alendy Antominie Dataa Osu. In addition to operating her clinic, she also runs an Adult Day Care center called Cynthia’s Masanga, where elders receive compassionate support, community, and attentive care. Her leadership in both clinical and community settings reflects her dedication to improving health and wellbeing in Suriname.
